EDC: Kris’ Everyday Carry

Geschreven door  op in Reizen, The Mobile Life.

EDC, the every day carry. If you don’t know this, it’s where people tell other people what they’re always carrying. So, who are we to stay behind. The thing is, my days are so different, and I have so many bags that my kit keeps evolving depending on the occasion.

Waking up with the alarm on my Apple Watch Sport in nightstand mode. Depending on the occasion, I choose between a leather loop or a sports band.

I then grab my 64GB iPhone 6s Space Grey and check all incoming messages.

Leaving home, I put on the amazing Bose SoundLink On Ear. Connecting it wireless to my iPhone and controlling music through my Apple Watch is just amazing.

The one thing you can always find on my belt is the Leatherman Wave with extra bits. It’s always with me, even while wearing a suit. The only moment I don’t have it with me is light air-traveling. When I tried to use the tiny Leatherman PS, it quickly vanished during an adventure in the Scottish highlands. So I wish Leatherman would create a full-size TSA approved tool.

As soon as I leave for longer than a few hours, I carry a Jupio 6000mAh mobile battery pack and a Lightning cable. For overnight trips an Apple Watch charging cable and a few power plugs get added to the bag.

In my jacket is my wallet, featuring the usual: Credit cards, Business cards, RFID travel cards for Belgium, The Netherlands and London, and a bit of cash (euro, pound, dollar). My keys are attached to a Disneyland Paris Tower of Terror lanyard.

Once traveling, I always will have an extra device with me. This is either my MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2012) or my iPad Mini 4 with midnight blue smart cover. When doing production I rely on a LaCie 250GB Rugged Thunderbolt SSD to back up and transfer data.

Depending on what I am carrying, I have the choice of bags between the ThinkTank Retrospective 5 (pinestone) and 40 (Blue Slate). For photo assignments I travel with two Pelican Case 1510, filled to the brim with Nikon gear.
